Unit : 02

Network Theorems

Ideal and practical voltage and current sources, Cramer`s Rule, Mesh and Nodal analysis . Source transformation. Star delta transformation. Superposition theorem, Thevevnins’s theorem Norton’s theorem, maximum power transfer theorem.

Unit : 03

Electrostatics and Capacitance

Fundamental laws of electrostatics, absolute and relative permittivity, electric field, electric flux, electric field intensity, electric flux density, electric potential, potential difference, potential gradient, dielectric strength and breakdown potential, capacitor and capacitance, permittivity, capacitance of parallel plate capacitor, variable capacitor, capacitors in series, capacitor in parallel, energy storage in capacitor, charging and discharging of capacitor, types of capacitors.
